Google confirms reports of moving out its engineers in Russia

Google confirms reports of moving out its engineers in Russia. The technology giant Google said that it remains committed to the users of the country and the relocation process had been also carried out previously in many countries. However, Google refused to answer about how many engineers would be affected by this move. The Russian parliament in the month of July had passed a bill making it essential for the internet companies hold personal data of citizens in the country itself. The Russian Government considers this law as a step towards data protection. But, the critics visualize it as a mode censor internet access as the law allows the Government to block sites that do not comply with this requirement. The technology companies usually store data in huge storage facilities around the globe. There is no mutual link between the data storage location and the user location. This means that most the user’s data will not be stored in the same country.
