Bing is no more your search option in Facebook

Facebook and Microsoft two major giants of the online world declared, dropping of Bing from the Facebook search results. This would mean you would no more find option searching your query on Bing through Facebook search. This however does not symbolize any split between the two giants.
Facebook sent a statement saying their aim is to feature quality web search services to the users by helping them identify the lost posts. They will still continue partnership with Microsoft in other operational areas. The recently launched Facebook search option, which will be available for over 1 billion Facebook users is a strategy to develop an internal search engine for Facebook. People now need not worry about posts which do not pop up in the notification bar.

However, Microsoft alleged complaints about Facebook not using Bing for quite some time. Still, it confirms its bonding with Facebook on other aspects of the development of the company. They said that Facebook wants to confine relevant searches through its internal search rather than producing irrelevant web results for the same.

According to experts, this strategy by Facebook would not affect the functioning of Bing. Bing is still the second highest market share holder in the search engine list with a 20 % market share. However, it is quite distant from the market leader, which holds 67% of the internet search market today. More importantly, Bing is still the search engine powering tool for Yahoo and its listings.

About Bing (from Wikipedia):

Bing from Microsoft. Bing was unveiled by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer on May 28, 2009, at the All Things Digital conference in San Diego, California, for release on June 1, 2009. Notable changes include the listing of search suggestions while queries are entered and a list of related searches based on semantic technology from Powerset, which Microsoft purchased in 2008. On July 29, 2009, Microsoft and Yahoo! announced a deal in which Bing would power Yahoo! Search. All Yahoo! Search global customers and partners were expected to have made the transition by early 2012.
