Now Wacom Bamboo Spark for Digitizing Handwritten Notes

There was pen and paper before the advent of computers, Smartphones and tablets. Wacom is making efforts to bring this longhand trend back into use. In this effort it has launched Bamboo Spark Smart folio. You will now be able to capture your ideas in digital ink and share them online. Mike Gay, senior vice president, Wacom says, “Whether a busy professional, connected student, or passionate hobbyist, Bamboo Spark goes where you go, giving you the freedom to choose when and how you capture ideas.” The pen that comes with Bamboo Spark is compatible with most papers of dimensions 5 x 8 inches. The pen combines Electro – magnetic Resonance (EMR) technology with the traditional ink, thus converting strokes in to digitized strokes.

First you should download the Bamboo Spark Android or iOS app and pair it with your pen. You can save 100 pages of work by pressing just one button of the folio. The pen even works in offline mode. The saved notes can be edited later using the mobile app or you can even access them through Inksspace web portal. Wacom allows you to save files in many formats including .WILL (Wacom ink layer language), .pdf or .jpg format. The notes can be saved either in the Bamboo paper app or Dropbox or Evernote.

Gay further says, “From note-taking in the classroom to sketching out a home remodeling project, Bamboo Spark provides a simple way to capture your concepts on plain paper and with the push of a button, effortlessly move your ideas to the cloud for editing or sharing.” Bamboo Spark is available in three variants – one with a tablet sleeve which you can use for holding your tablet, smartphone, pen and paper; one with a gadget pocket to keep smartphone, pen and paper and one with snap – fit for iPads. You can get ink cartridges in packs of three for $9.99. You can get your smart folio along with other accessories starting from October through online stores including Amazon and others. Wacom is looking forward to integrate more features in to Bamboo Spark such as handwriting recognition by next year.
