Lenovo launches new Yoga tablets, boasts of unique design and great battery life

The Yoga tablets from Lenovo are known for their kickstands and batteries in a cylindrical yet functional base. Lenovo has announced three new tablets in the line all of which operate on android 5.1. The kickstand was added to allow user to use the tab in various configurations. For example, you might place it in upright position for watching videos or you might tilt to get a better angle for typing or you can also hang it from a wall while showing a presentation. The cylindrical server another purpose besides housing the device’s battery, it is to give you a comfortable hold while using the tab in portrait mode. The cylindrical also allows Lenovo to use larger batteries compared to other tablets. The Yoga tab 3 Pro has a metal build of premium aluminium and covered in leather and has a 10 inch display. What makes it unique is its 180 degree pico – Projector that is built – in. This is great upgrade over Yoga tablet 2 Pro which could Project only up to 5 inches of screen. The new version allows a Projection of up to 70 inches on ceiling or on wall at 50 nits. Lenovo hasn’t specified its resolution yet but we think it would same as Yoga tablet 2 Pro. A 2.24GHz quad –core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 Processor powers the Yoga Tab 3 Pro and comes with 2GB RAM. Users have the option for internal memory of 16GB or 32 GB. The tab supports microSD expansion of up to 128GB.

The tab sports a front camera of 5 megapixels and a rear camera of 13 megapixels. Both have autofocus feature. The 10,200 mAH battery offers you 18 hours of power which means you can movies and shows uninterrupted. Putting battery in the cylindrical base does makes the device thinner with 4.68mm. However, the large battery adds up to the weight of the whole tab which sums up to 665 grams – that’s almost 221 grams heavier than iPad Air 2 which is only 444 grams.

Lenovo has taken very well care of the sound quality. The device has 4 JBL speakers in the front all supporting Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound. Yoga tab 3 Pro will be available for sale by the holiday season. You can expect LTE version at $600 and Wi-Fi version at $500.
