MWC 2015: HTC unveils One M9 Smartphone

BARCELONA, SPAIN (MWC 2015) — Recouping smartphone maker HTC unveiled its most recent flagship device, One M9 at MWC, as it looks to grab a portion of the smartphone spotlight from smartphone giant Samsung who launched the new Galaxy S6 in the event. Both gadgets are set to hit the market quite soon. A slew of other new gadgets were also revealed here at Mobile World Congress. It can be surmised that rivalry among manufacturers will be wild.
One M9 is radically different from 2013’s One M7. But its evolution can clearly be traced from One M7 through One M8 which was marketed in 2014. The chief enhancements are focused on the picture, video and sound. The rear primary camera is a standard 20 MP camera without HTC’s “ultrapixel” technology. This technology didn’t find many takers when it was initially launched. However the front camera of One M9 incorporates “ultrapixel”. Both the headphones and the integrated speakers come with Dolby sound processing. The phone sports a 5 inch full HD display. The device runs on HTC’s very own Sense 7 UI. The phone comes in two toned color combinations like silver and rose gold and gold and pink or single tone gold and single tone gunmetal grey.

HTC also unveiled its first ever wearable device. As of now this device called the HTC grip is focusing on the US market. The company claims that the device is very accurate as it makes use of GPS when the user is strolling in the open. It also supports the more common pedometer for indoor use. This wearable comes not long after HTC partnered with the sportswear company, Under Armour. The device can be connected with the latest iOS or Android devices, as well as with heart rate monitor, cadence monitors etc.
