Lollipop update will be released for LG’s G2, G3 and Gpad range

LG, the South Korean market leader in electronics and gadgets has announced that their Gpad smartphones will soon be receiving the Android Lollipop update. The roll out will be limited to the Korean version of the phone as of now; however, a global rollout of the feature can be expected soon.
Devices like G Pad 8.3, G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 come under the Gpad series. Of this, the Google Play edition of G Pad 8.3 already has the Android Lollipop update since last year. This is also the only device in the series that was launched in 2013; all the other models were marketed in 2014. The devices in LG’s GPad series comes in different screen sizes like 7 inches, 8 inches, 10.1 inches etc., but besides this, they basically have the same hardware. They run on a powerful 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. They come with stunning displays with 800X1280 resolution. Each device has 1 GB of RAM.

Android Lollipop 5.0

With the new Android 5.0 update, the user interface in the G Pad devices will receive a new bold and colorful look. It will also be more responsive than before. The new update brings some changes in the notification system in the smartphones; now the notifications will be displayed on the top part of the screen and the user can view the notifications on the lock screen of the device. Another important feature of the new update is the battery optimization feature; this includes a power saver mode, a tool for tracking battery consumption by various applications and an option for job scheduling.
