An unforgettable devastating inhuman incident at Peshawar

Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Wednesday asked to intensify the battle against terror. It was a day which had seen mass funerals of 148 people killed in the Peshawar attack. The majority amongst the killed individuals were children. The inhuman attack on the military run school at Peshawar was carried out by Tehreek-e-Taliban. The entire nation mourned to the grief of lost lives. Sharif indicated strict steps to strengthen the fight against terrorism. He said that all parties have come together to draft an action plan in the nation’s perspective, within a week’s time.

After the all party meeting Sharif said that there would not be any sort of differentiation between good Taliban and bad Taliban and the war against terror would continue till the last terrorist is removed. Sharif added that the Peshawar incident was not to be forgotten because innocent children had been pelted with bullets in a very inhuman manner. The Government also declared three day mourning for the grievers to bury their children. Many pallbearers had gathered with coffins covered with flowers. Many prayer vigils were happening across Pakistan.

The grief of a laborer was seen when he said that hard work of 14 years to bring up his son had been finished in a few minutes. He lived in Dubai far away from his son Farhad to earn a living for him. This incident has left no ambitions in life for him to survive. Sharif also made an important announcement confirming that the 6 years delay on the death penalty would be lifted. The army chief travelled across to Kabul to initiate talks on improving intelligence in the country.

The Justice Project Pakistan, which is a rights organization based in Lahore said there are around 800 people who have been tried as terrorists. The fast tracked process if initiated by the Government could see conviction of around 70 terrorists. The Peshawar incident was a painful incident and for the first time, media was allowed. A piece of clothing, torn notebooks, broken benches, windows, upside down chairs, blood pools, etc, were truly devastating. A wall was smashed where one of the attackers blew up himself. The atmosphere had thick air smelling explosives and flesh.

Earlier on Tuesday, a few Taliban terrorists had rushed into the military school wearing the military uniforms. They were equipped with explosives and forced into an auditorium where children were writing their exams. The sound of gunfire and explosions echoed across the school. They threatened with suicide vests as Pakistan force rushed to figure out the scene.

Around 100 bodies were recovered from the auditorium. According to the Military spokesperson, the terrorists made way to the auditorium stage and open fired at children at random. The Taliban leaders are allegedly hiding in Afghanistan. Sharif said he had discussed this matter with Ashraf Ghani, the Afgan President to take fresh actions in this regard to the clean the territory from terrorism. Afghanistan has been criticized by Pakistan in past for inaction against militants across their border and Kabul in particular for not assisting Pakistan in the North Waziristan operation, which was launched in June. However, Pakistan was also accused of harboring militants in the tribal regions by Afghanistan. The Taliban terrorist group confirmed this attack as revenge to the offenses made by military to their heavens along the northwest Afghanistan border. This attack saw significant condemnation across the world.
