A new announcement from Apple says that they will be launching a program called “Today at Apple” next month. Today at Apple is a collection of programs and educational sessions that will cover topics like coding, art and design, photos, video, music, etc. All 495 Apple stores will come under the purview of the program which will be conducted by highly trained team members. In some cities, artists, photographers and musicians will lead the program.
“At the heart of every Apple Store is the desire to educate and inspire the communities we serve,” said Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s senior vice president, Retail. “Today at Apple’ is one of the ways we’re evolving our experience to better serve local customers and entrepreneurs. We’re creating a modern-day town square, where everyone is welcome in a space where the best of Apple comes together to connect with one another, discover a new passion, or take their skill to the next level. We think it will be a fun and enlightening experience for everyone who joins.”
The programs and sessions are all free and they highlight the features of Apple products that people love most no matter what their age or skill level is. For instance if you are an iPhone user with a love for photography then you can take six free How To sessions that will cover shooting, organizing, editing and more. If you are more advanced then you can learn new techniques like light and shadow, portraits and storytelling etc. There is even a Photo Lab where established photographers will teach you about capturing candids, building a brand on social media etc.
There will be special programs available for families and teachers as well. Teachers can learn how to better integrate technology into their classrooms, coders can learn how to code using Apple’s programming language Swift. Families can take part in Kids Hour sessions which will be held during weekends. Business owners can engage with fellow business owners and entrepreneurs from around the world.
The majority of the sessions will be taught by Creative Pros, each and every one of whom is a genius in his or her own field of arts. Each creative pro will host 90 minutes long sessions that will cover a myriad of topics. You can even bring in your personal project and seek expert advice.
Photo Walks will help participants learn about advanced photography and interact in the local community. They will learn techniques like framing architecture or capturing action on video etc. Someone attending a sketch walk session will learn more about observational drawings, watercolor and brush techniques and so on.
