Founded 10 years ago, now Google owned YouTube has one billion plus users and the community seems to be growing everyday in all parts of the world. Increasingly people have started using it on tabs and phones and almost half of the population now watches videos on their devices. According to a survey by Variety, U.S. kids aged 13 to 17 adore YouTube stars more than music or TV celebrities. A great part of YouTube’s focus is on family entertainment. The overall viewing times at YouTube have grown by 50 percent last year and for the family channels alone it is 200 percent. Months have been spent on building this app for kids as reported by USA Today. It also had to collaborate with t3rd – party organizations including Common Sense Media which a review site focussed upon children. The time is just right for the launch of YouTube kids as others have already launched similar apps. Last month we saw Vine rolling out the Vine Kids but that was available only for the iOS.
