Windows 10 free for Raspberry Pi Makers

Microsoft publicized on Monday that they will be making their new desktop operating system. That OS will be called “Windows 10” and later in this year it will be freely available to users of Raspberry Pi 2. This would be the most modern iteration of computer brain having a low cost which is used frequently to influence Internet of Things Projects and Maker movement. It is also revealed on Monday that the Raspberry Pi 2 will cost $35. It will be having various features including a processor of 900 megahertz and memory of 1 gigabyte, or six times respectively and double Pi’s 1st iteration, which was previously debuted in year 2012. The latest version of Pi will remain at the equal price but It will be backwardly compatible with the original.

Eben Upton, the founder of Pi explained the long- gossiped upgrade through the blog on Monday that there comes a point when you get no alternate for extra memory and performance of the CPU (central processing unit). It was their challenge to find out to get this done without any more investment in the first version of the product. According to the Strategy Analytics the extra powerful board of Pi would benefit the rapidly growing IoT industry as it assures the connectivity of 33 billion devices to the internet by 2020 which is more or less triple the existing numbers.

Frank Gillett, the analyst of tech industry for Forrester Research, said that Microsoft has been sharing the messages for some time because they want to be a huge part of the IoT. He mentioned that unlike Intel, the chip makers, Microsoft is charging no licensing fee for supporting the phones. Just because Intel has had a very hard time to make the leap from being in the computers to influencing the mobile devices. Gillett further said that it is a tactic of Microsoft to get mixed up early with all these people by offering free right to use Windows 10 for IoT developers as they are already searching around for inventions.

The Windows IoT group’s general manager, Kevin Dallas mentioned in his blog post that the community of Maker specially is a remarkable source of modernization for the smart and connected devices which symbolizes the basis of the next computing wave. He also added that they are thrilled to be its part. Dallas also mentioned that the Raspberry Pi 2 is amazingly a powerful device which will b opening up the new worlds of computing and programming to a large range of skill levels and people. This upcoming technology will bring a good change in the world of programming as well as computing for the young developers and for the earlier ones searching for some innovations.
