It operates on 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU with 3GB RAM. The Mi 4 smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 441 ppi along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
