Apple hires Swiss Luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer’s sales executive

Apple has managed to nab the Tag Heuer’s sales and retail vice president as it plans the release of iWatch in the later part of this year. As told by Jean – Claude Biver (head of brands at LVMH) to CNBC, the sales director of Tag Heuer has been signed by Apple. The iWatch is supposed to be released in October as per the reports. Another report said that the new hire is Patrick Pruniaux as cited by an unnamed source. It was later confirmed by Reuters. iWatch is predicted to be released around September or October but according to some quoting from anonymous sources Apple has already hired quanta last month for mass production of the wearable device.

According to Biver iWatch has the potential to be a threat to the other competitors in the industry and at the same time would have the same status as the other Apple products. Reuters also reported that it is in Japan where Apple would apply for iWatch’s trademark. iWatch is imminent, however there was no mentioning of it in the recently held WWDC conference. Patrick isn’t the first exec from the luxury goods sector who has been hired by Apple.  Last year it hired Paul Deneve – former CEO of Yves Saint Laurent for some special project and Angela Ahrendts, CEO of Burberry group.
