Dil Raju is known for his hit family entertainment movies such as “Mr. Perfect”, “Bommarillu”, etc. Now he has produced “Shatamanam Bhavati” on similar lines. The inherent family bonding and sentiment that have been portrayed in the movie seems to work well with the audience. Sateesh Vegesna (director of “Gabbar Singh”) has done a good job with this movie.
The plot revolves around Raghava Raju (played by Prakash Raj) and his family. He and his wife (Jayasudha) have everything one could ask for, health, happiness, and wealth. The only thing that’s missing is the bonding between them and their children who have settled abroad and do not care to visit their old parents. As the festival of Sankranthi nears, they decide to call their children. Instead of giving the true reason, Raju decides to give them false reason that he is divorcing their mother. The lie works and children finally arrive home. However, this remains hidden from his wife. The drama begins when she realizes that Raju is going to divorce her. We also see some budding romance between Raju (played by Sharwanand) and Raghava’s grand daughter, Nithya (Anupama). Raju tries to sort out the issues in the family and bring them closer.
Sharwanand has performed well. Though Anupama’s role is weak, she has played with charm. The movie is driven by old routines, though it scores heavy on its beautiful cinematography and climax moments of family bonding. The usual routine of the movie puts it a little on the off-side. The music is quite enjoyable. Overall, the Shatamanam Bhavati movie is a decent watch.
