EditorApple has announced a new service in partnership with its partners. Well, now any publisher is allowed to join the news channel. This means that bloggers now will be able to publish in the mainstream. Here’s how to go about it.
For those who are unaware of the Apple News, it is the iOS news platform of Cupertino. Presently it offers content from more than 100 major news publishers such as CNN. The publishers here can publish in both RSS format and other high – design formats such as Apple News Format. Till now Apple had allowed limited access to Apple News.
Apple says about Apple News, “News brings the beautiful editorial layouts and typography of print to the screen. Enjoy interactive and engaging stories, rich with photo galleries, videos and animation. Articles are optimised for both iPhone and iPad, so you’ll have a great reading experience no matter which device you’re using.”
Currently there are 40 million Apple News users. You can standard blogs and video posts. You can have a look at Apple News Format to know more.
To allow you to publish, Apple has launched “News Publisher portal” where you can create content to be accessed by ay iOS device.
If you are already using some CMS like WordPress or Drupal, the plug-ins are available. Before you start publishing you need to get Apple News API credentials from Apple. For this you have to contact Apple to have your content approved. Then you have to sign with your Apple ID to make a connection to the News Publisher.
