Since GTA has a massive universe, it will take the developers a lot of time to get it up. This does not means that Rockstar is planning to abandon GTA V all together. We still might see a few mini-series, such as GTA City Stories etc., just to keep the gamers up to date with the latest events of GTA V. An estimated year for a new GTA would be 2018 at the very earliest. Before even thinking about developing a new game, Rockstar should look at the amount of requests that it has received regarding the game. A game that has a fan base as large as GTA just cannot afford to go against the gamers. Millions of people have posted what they expect from the next game and what they are looking forward to see.
With the new GTA comes the possibility of having a female in a lead role. Any game of the GTA series has never featured a central female character. Dan Houser, who is the co-founder of Rockstar Games, said,” In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven’t found the right game for it yet, but it’s one of the things we always think about.” Apart from the lead character many gamers have been looking forward to see new locations. Since Los Santos is based on LA and has been used a lot, Rockstar has also indicated that they will be using a few new locations for the game.
Coming back to GTA V, Rockstar has planned to finally introduce Lowriders in its online platform known as the GTA Online. Until now, the user was able to drive all sorts of vehicles in the game but low-riders were missing. Since this is a game that is based on California, having no Lowriders seems a bit odd. Wirth the new update, Rockstar will fix this issue too and make the game better.
