Super Mario turns 30, fans celebrate around the world

Super Mario was released in sequel to its early version called Mario Bros. Mario was first released in japan and later in North America and Europe. In 2005 it was named as the “highly influential” and “pioneering” title of all time by IGN.

Mario is now as popular as the Mickey Mouse. Mario was also seen in another game called “Donkey Kong” besides his own title. But in this Nintendo arcade game he appeared by the name of Jumpman. What makes him instantly familiar is his blue overalls, red cap and the moustache. Florent Gorges, author of book on history of Nintendo, says, “Mario now has a status in popular culture equal to Mickey Mouse.”

Mario’s best known adventures involve him rescuing the princess but he can be seen in other scenarios like golf, karting or football. With the advancement of technology, the game also progressed and a 3D version was released in 1996 called the Super Mario 64.
To mark this milestone of successful 3 decades, Nintendo is going to release “Super Mario Maker” using which the players will be able to create their own versions of Mario world. They will also be able to use each other’s creation. Initially it will be available only for WiiU console.
Nintendo has its attention on smartphone game market. This is completely out of Nintendo’s policy of releasing only console exclusive titles. Nintendo gave us a hint in March that would be releasing games based up on its family of popular characters but hasn’t come up with any details yet.
The Kyoto-based company hopes to balance the demand for its games by stepping in to smartphone market.
