Sony launches premium 4K Smartphone ‘Xperia Z5’

Sony has announced the world’s first Smartphone with 4k display just ahead of the Berlin’s IFA tech show. Sony is launching not just one but three flavours of Xperia Z5 namely Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 compact and of course Xperia Z5 premium. Till now a resolution of 4K was seen just in ultra HD TVs, but Sony went a step ahead in breaking the trend and has introduced 4k display Smartphone that would be actually affordable. The three models differ in terms of screen resolution and size. The design of all three is somewhat similar – encased in metal frame and back covered with a frosted glass. The Xperia Z5 premium is being dubbed as the Sony’s new flagship phone and has a 5.5 inch display. Xperia Z5 has a slightly smaller display of 5.2 inches with 1080p HD display and the compact model is quite compact in that it has a 4.6 inch display.

A fingerprint sensor has also been introduced in the Xperia phones and is embedded in the power button itself that is on the phone’s right side in contrast to the iPhone 6 home button. There is also dedicated camera button that can be pressed to quickly launch the back camera of 23 megapixels. The front camera is 8 megapixels – great enough for capturing selfies! Another feature that makes Z5 unique is its autofocus which is lightning – fast, takes around 0.03 seconds to lock on to a subject making it the world’s fastest.

Unfortunately Z5 models don’t have a very long battery life – a feature that made Xperia Z3 a very great phone. Z5’s battery will have a 2 day battery life. However like all Xperia phones, Z5 models are also waterproof as well as dust proof.
