SURGE will be a new type of tech conference – a meeting place for people who are both building the companies of tomorrow and managing the companies of today. Paddy Cosgrave, CEO and Co-founder of Web Summit, said:
“Hundreds of startups from India have been flying to Dublin for the Web Summit and they all told us we could no longer afford to ignore India. Flipkart’s founder and CEO, Sachin Bansal, flew all the way to Ireland for Web Summit 4 years ago and when he suggested over Twitter recently that we start a conference in Bengaluru, I knew it was time.
“Now we’re going to bring the magic of Web Summit to India. Bengalaru is a major economic and cultural centre. It well deserves its reputation as the capital of India’s technology and software industries and it has a buzzing startup scene.
“We chose Bengalaru as the perfect place to bring together the best startups and tech companies in India, alongside leading entrepreneurs, investors, media and more from around the world. We can’t wait for next year,” he added.
