Now change in the way Facebook counts the Likes

This is for the page managers on Facebook who should know that in the coming time their “likes” might plunge a little lower. This is all because of the change in way Facebook counts likes on a page. On its blog Facebook stated that it is going to change its likes counting method. It also warned page managers that their likes count might be hit as the new policy is implemented. According to the policy, the likes from the deceaseds’ accounts or from those of memorialized will be removed.

Further likes from deactivated accounts will also not be considered. Facebook said that this would be of benefit to business owners as this will provide a more accurate status of the popularity of their pages. Also the business owners will be able to see their actual “social media demographic”. For the case of accounts that were voluntarily deactivated, the likes will be restored in case the owner reactivates. The reason given by Facebook for this change is that the data will be more accurate, up – to – date and consistent. It further said that the meaningful information will benefit everyone.
