Commenting on the achievement, Mukund BS, Founder of Renew IT said, “CNBC Masterpreneur Season 2 is a validation of the fact that ReNew IT has been successfully delivering computing needs of lower income group and helping the people, society and a country at a large in its own novel way. At the heart of the digital divide in India is the issue of affordability. We have all seen how low cost cell-phones have transformed the lives of millions of Indians. Unfortunately, there are no options for buying high-quality, low cost computers in the market today. In today’s high-tech world, to get desired employment opportunities, the current generation needs good computer skills. The earlier they are exposed to computers; the better is their chance to a brighter future. Our goal is to help the economically disadvantaged with required computing technologies by making basic computing technology affordable”.

As per the Census 2011 data, India has an IT penetration of 9.5% at a household level. With less than 1 in 10 households having a computer, India has produced a 100 billion dollar IT industry with iconic brands like Infosys, Wipro and TCS with employments to millions of software professionals and indirect employment to a large population of the society who provide services to these IT companies. If the IT penetration in India can be increased to around the 30% mark in China or a 45% mark in Brazil, it will be able to create a high growth impact across Indian economy. Renew IT believes that it can contribute towards this by creating a brighter future for millions of Indians with its mission, “Make Computers affordable to everyone”.
