Brand new Oscars.org website unveiled by the Academy

The new site promises to deliver an unprecedented experience to the members, exclusive content as well as the collections. Apart from this fans would also be able to access the Oscar’s timeline. All this is being done as a part of the efforts for educating, entertaining and inspiring the fans worldwide. The site showcases the passion for films and is built upon history and expertise of the industry.

The site is one of kind that could only be created by the Academy. Apart from the desktop version, the site’s mobile version is also user friendly, sleek with appropriate integration of the social media throughout. This feature has been included in the site to let fans involve in the conversations, connect with other fans of similar taste and passion in movies across the globe. Other not to be missed features includes the Academy’s visual showcase. This dynamic showcase displays the huge archive and library collection, over 50,000 photos and videos of the Academy. Plus you also get to see the highlights of 86 glorious years of its history that have passed. There is a separate section for the events and programmes hosted by the Academy. The site was initially launched in 2008 but had some weaknesses. The new version exploits the fans –movies relationship to deepen the bond with the Academy. It provides a platform to the fans from where they can access the amazing collection and the content created by the Academy members.

The collection on display consists of remarkable items that give fans a great look at the remarkable movies of all time. A total of 11 collections are on display and few more will be released in few days. The visitors are free to suggest any other item on web which they think is worthy of such a display. The 86 yrs Oscars timeline is full of photos, videos and wow moments of the history. Upcoming and past events are put up so that fans can stay updated with the latest events and also travel back in time and explore great historical moments.
