goTenna creates connectivity when no data or wifi

The ability to communicate with anyone in the world within seconds is something that nearly everyone in the world has gotten used to. But there are still places where WiFi connections or data services are not available; for instance while hiking or camping in the wilderness. But now there is a way to communicate even without network connections. goTenna is a device that lets its users to create a closed network of their own. The device are sold in pairs so if say a group splits up during an excursion then a member of each group can carry a GoTenna and connect it to their phones through Bluetooth.

Now the two groups can communicate even though there is no network coverage. The goTenna devices createtheir own network using radio waves of low frequency. The users can send messages or inform each other about their locations. Messages can be sent to individual users or groups of users.

Another feature of goTenna allows user to send distress calls to all goTenna users within range. The range of goTenna depends largely on location. It can go up to 50 miles at places. But within cities, the range is rather limited and doesn’t exceed more than a few miles.

As far is battery life is concerned, the devices last nearly 30 hours if used constantly, if used intermittently then it will last around 72 hours. If kept turned off, the device can retain charge for up to a year.
This innovative device is now available in pre-order costing $149 for a pair, after their fixed number of discounted units sell out, the devices will cost $299 for a pair.
