8% increase in Mercedes-Benz sales by popular demand

Mercedes revealed a rise of 8% in its sales this Friday. The reason for this increase in the sales can be owned to popular demand for the compact vehicle line. Around 142,136 vehicles were moved by the European car manufacturer this June; that makes a significant difference since the last year. In the six month delivery duration, the rise was observed to be 13 percent. Ola Kaellenius (Mercedes sales boss) is confident about making a sales record this year. Most of the demands were for the compact vehicles, shooting up the sales by 24 percent in the year’s first half. Till now this year 215,205 compact vehicles have been sold – this accounts for a quarter of the early yearly sales. By the next year Mercedes has plans to extend this compact range by adding the CLA shooting brake.

Mercedes is hoping that the momentum will remain consistent for the rest of the year. Later this year we might observe the launch of next – gen C class vehicles. This line of vehicles has proved to be one of the Mercedes’ most successful models. The release is due by September for Chinese and North American markets. As predicted by Dieter Zetsche (Diamler CEO) Mercedes may beat both BMW and Audi by 2020 in worldwide sales and become the largest manufacturer of the luxury cars in the world. In 2013, Mercedes made a sale of 1.46 million vehicles whereas figures generated by BMW and Audi were 1.66 and 1.58 million respectively.
