IPL 7, RCB vs SRH: It was a heads on game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. De Villiers managed to chase 156 by pulling 89 runs from just 41 balls. SRH lost to RCB by 4 wickets. Prior to the match, RCB had already lost last 4 UAE matches, putting it in a state of meltdown. Sunrisers too were experiencing loss but their last two wins had them still standing.
This is RCB’s first home game at the fortress Chinnaswamy and they just got their luck back. Perhaps the inspiration came from the team’s last year performance – seven games won out of 8. Kohli’s captaincy is being scrutinized every now and then with the increasing losses. His captaincy is not being benefitted by his batting skills. Now it seems like the way he recovers from the loss will define his captaincy.
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s bowling has proved to be a charm for SRH throughout this tournament till now with figures: 19.3 overs, 120 runs, 8 wickets. Looks like, this pace changer is baffling the batsmen. Compared with the T20 world cup, where in 6 matches he took only 4 wickets, the performance is much better. Previously in Asia cup ODI matches, in 4 matches he took 3 wickets. With the right Yorkers, seam movement and improvement in death overs, Kumar is more of a challenge to the batters. But Bangalore has the batting skills to ward off any bowling attack. This ground has witnessed the delight of the stroke players with a flat wicket as well as short boundaries on wicket’s either side. As for the tournament, Kumar is counted among the top pacers.
