Finally an upgrade to iWork for iCloud

Though it has been a very long time, but the major upgrade to the iWork for iCloud by Apple make it seems like it is worth the wait. The new update for the iCloud apps suite has been developed to prove to be a tough competition for the various cloud file sharing solutions including Google Drive. The new features include the numbers spreadsheet manager, keynote presentation maker and pages word processor. Apple is also planning on incorporating OS X and iOS apps in the coming time. Another feature called the collaboration feature has been introduced by virtue of which a single file can be accessed by around 100 people in any way they like, be it either in pages or keynotes.

Google drive already has this feature – making it easy for Apple since the users are already comfortable with it. The upper limit of concurrent users of a single file on iWork suite has been raised to 100 from 50 previously. Images of size up to 10MB can be uploaded. All the applications mentioned above will have features such as interactive charts, multiple color changing and other formatting options. One can now even export the pages to ePub format.  The basic requirements have been restructured that include object layering and formatting the tables. These features have increased readability and eased navigation. For making it easy to integrate with MS excel, the apps allow you to export numbers to CSV. There has been improvement in the storage capacity too and now you can upload files of size up to 1GB. Now this is one step ahead of what Google does.
