iTunes on Android

iTunes on Android

Rumours have it that Apple has decided to roll its iTunes version for the android smartphones seeing a huge interest of the iTunes lovers (who are using android devices). Possibility is that iTunes can take over the Spotify which is an old streaming service. The topmost music players are already making it to the android devices but till now we are seeing iTunes available only for iPad and iPhones.

The news about the android release came from the Billboard Company. This is a great leap by the computer giant as it was declared by Steve Jobs that this music service won’t be provided for devices other than its own. But as the market for android in increasing, it makes sense in releasing the iTunes for the rivals. From some other rumours, Apple has decided to come up with online music streaming service of its own which would be somewhat similar to Napster and Spotify. This will let the users listen to any of the singles or albums by paying a small monthly subscription charge. With the increasing popularity of the music streaming, Apple will continue to be the leader in this field by taking on this huge market.

The iTunes radio service was recently launched in US and probably this year it will be launched in UK. But it would be different from spotify as the service will itself choose the songs for you rather than having you create your own playlist.  However these plans are in very early stages, so expectations of having these on our phones is quite low. The rumours haven’t been commented on by Apple, but if it turns out to be true, iTunes and android will make a cool combination for the music fans.
