Oscars 95 Nomination Announcements to be Hosted in Metaverse’s Horizon Worlds

For the first time, the nominations will be announced in Virtual Reality via Metaverse’s Horizon Worlds, in addition to being streamed live on Oscar.com, Oscars.org, etc.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams will be hosting the presentation of the nomination for the 95th Oscars.

Ahmed, who won an Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film in 2020 for The Long Goodbye, received a nomination for Best Actor in 2021 for his performance in Sound of Metal. Williams, known for her roles in Girls and Get Out, can currently be seen in the Universal/Blumhouse film M3GAN, which she also executive produced.

For the first time, the nominations will be announced in Virtual Reality via Metaverse’s Horizon Worlds, in addition to being streamed live on Oscar.com, Oscars.org, and the Academy’s YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. The presentation is set to take place on Tuesday, January 24th, at 5:30 am PST / 8:30 am EST.

The 95th Oscars ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, March 12th, will be held live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide. Ahmed and Williams will join a long list of talented hosts who have presided over the Oscars in the past, and it is sure to be an exciting and memorable event.
