Augmented – Reality Game for Pokémon

As announced this Thursday, Pokémon will be releasing its augmented reality game for Android and iOS platforms, thus erasing the line between the virtual Pokémon world and our real world. The game dubbed “Pokémon GO” will be released next year. The game is being created jointly in collaboration with Niantic Inc. as well as Nintendo. The gameplay will extend beyond your smartphone screen as you will be exploring your surroundings and neighborhood to find Pokémon along with other players. Players first will have to find Pokémon and catch them just like Ash Ketchum – the Pokémon master in the hit series. Then you can battle it out with others in real – world settings.

Players will be able to download the game for free from Google Play Store and App store in 2016. Game apart, the company is also rumored to have been working on a companion smartwatch called “Pokémon Go Plus”. The watch gives a light or vibration signal when the player is nearing a Pokémon.

This game is the Nintendo’s first augmented – reality game. Being related to the popular franchise, the game is already creating a lot of buzz around. Watching the trailer we think the players will be able to catch, battle and trade Pokémon. Take a peek in to what the game might look like.
