‘Srimanthudu’ out now, Beats ‘Baahubali’ Record

The much awaited telugu movie “srimanthudu” is out now. Directed by koratala siva, the movie stars Mahesh babu and shruthi Hassan and has broken Baahubali’s record and has received positive reviews from global audiences. Besides directing, the screenplay of the movie has also been written by Siva. The movie revolves around a millionaire who sets out to make his own mark instead of following in his father’s footsteps. The movie is based on the message of “giving back to society”. The movie has a nice blend of romance, sentiment, action and comedy. Srimanthudu has beaten S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali’s first record. The premier tickets sold for $15,000. The main highlight of the movie is Mahesh Babu’s role. The background score and the soundtracks have been produced by Devi Sri Prasad while R Madhi has taken care of the cinematography. Ramajogayya Sastry has written the lyrics for the songs except for Charuseela. Shruti Haasan revealed that the charuseela’s tune is inspired from Michael Jackson’s compositions.

The two drawbacks as pointed out by critics are the slow narration and predictable story. Srimanthudu’s budget is Rs. 400 millions. The movie has been jointly produced by Naveen Yerneni in collaboration with CV Mohan, Y Ravi Shankar and Mahesh Babu with G Mahesh Babu Entertainment pvt. Ltd. and Mythri movie makers. The movie makers have decided to release Srimanthudu in 150 screens in US. In Detroit alone the movie will be screened in 11 theatres.

However the distributors – Sunil Pantra, Kiran Duggitala, Shiva Polavarapu and Vamsi Karumanchi – are planning to hold at least 20 premier shows. A huge number of advance bookings have been recorded for the opening weekend. The highest amount for single ticket sold for Baahubali is Rs. 10,000 that was brought by a fan. Srimanthudu has been selected to be screened first in the “festival of globe” opening night.

The festival is to be held in San Jose, California starting from August 7 to August 16. Many Hollywood celebrities including Sharon, Stone, Martin Sheen and Jackie Chan will be attending this festival. Rajendra Prasad, Jagapati Babu, Harish Uthaman, Sukanya, Sampath Raj and Brahmanandam have supporting roles. The principal photography of the movie has been done in Pune.

 Most of the shooting took place in Hyderabad’s Ramanaidu studios. Some other portions of the movie have been shot in Malaysia and Tamil Naidu. Srimanthudu’s Tamil dubbed version “Selvandhan” will also be released alongside on 7th August.
