Bangalorean: What is this “Dolls” song about exactly?
Rawzilk: It’s about an insecure lonely girl who starts kidnapping and hurting girls prettier than her.
B: What inspired you to write something like this?
R: For some time I’ve been wanting to make a concept album about the mentality of serial killers and the dark side of human nature. I think it’s an important subject to talk about, actually. I’ve done a little research in the psychology of criminal minds and I feel like we could easily avoid future disasters if we understood where the criminal mentality came from.
B: What made you want to create an album about the dark side of human nature?
R: I don’t know, I’ve always wanted to make an album that tells a story the way a film does. I love drama and I love films. I want to be a filmmaker, actually. I don’t have the means to make quality films but I have the tools to create music and I want to use these tools to tell stories. I think crime and lunacy are solid elements for a good dramatic story, it can easily be both twisted and beautiful.
B: So the entire album will be about killing people?
R: Virtually, yes. But it’s not that black and white, there are other factors included such as heartbreaks, rage, drug abuse, etc. Overall I just want to set a dark tone exploring the ugly truth of what humans are capable of.
B: What is the album called and when will it be released?
R: The album is called “The Pyrrhic Victories and Horrors of Broken Souls” and I don’t have a release date for it yet. Most likely late 2015/early 2016. I’ll be releasing a few singles first.
B: Interesting album title, why that title?
R: It’s pretty self explanatory when you think about it. Crazy people with crazy goals lose a lot more than they gain when they accomplish their desires, desires like murdering your ex or shooting up a place. That’s a pyrrhic victory; and it’s usually broken souls who have these desires, people who were broken in their childhood or teenagehood and slipped into madness.
B: Is there anything you’d like to share with our readers before our interview is over?
R: Yes, don’t alienate people just because they’re different than you. Loneliness leads to toxic thoughts and actions!
B: May I ask about your next releases?
R: Yes, I’ll be releasing a few more singles throughout the year. I’ll be releasing a single called “morphine” next and another one called “a love story”, those are the only releases I have planned currently.
B: Lastly, Who are some of your musical influences or role models?
Kanye West. He’s a musical genius who does what no other musician out there is doing. I’ve always looked up to him as a mad genius and a true inspiration/ Despite all the hate he gets, he’s the biggest rock star on the motherf*cking planet!
