Movie Review: Bandipotu – Allari Naresh

It has been a time after the space coverage by Allari Naresh’s film at the box office. He has been putting his efforts to regain on the track post Sudigadu and he teams up, in his latest attempt, with Mohana Krishna Indraganti, the renowned director. Now let’s check if the Bandipotu can end up the Allari Naresh’s bad run or not. Bandipotu is about a trivial thief, Allari Naresh (Viswanath), who initiates the bargain with Eesha (Jahnavi), the girl who has the passion of revenge from three people: Bharani , Posani and Rao Ramesh for cheating on Subhalekha Sudhakar, her innocent father. Viswanath together with friend Sampoornesh (Tellabbayi) plans out a con to punish the all three above.

As the con man, Allari Naresh, is best who cheats all the villains by his best brain use. He is groomed perfectly for the character and in terms of screen presence this is the best. However it does not have much comedy in which Naresh shines. It is a classy, primarily, comedic movie and Naresh has given his best in it. Eesha, as the woman lead, is alright. She is good in emoting the thoughts and she has best done the emotional scenes. Sampoornesh has almost failed in stealing the show, he is not more than OKAY. Tanikella Bharani and Rao Ramesh, the seasoned actors, have outdone their characters. Posani grabs a significant role and also accomplishes the requirements of the character. Some more actors like Chandra Mohan, Srinivas Avasarala and Subhalekha Sudhakar have also given their performances in the movie.

Mohana Krishna Indraganti is renowned for classy films creations and in spite of Allari Naresh as the lead the Bandipotu endures his symbolic style. The director, Mohana Krishna Indraganti, has done the best and the movie entertains the odds and the ends. However, as we expect from the film of Allari Naresh, this movie has not enough comedy. The script is almost acceptable but it has a little to keep the audience interested till the end. Kalyani Koduri has composed its music which is also average and the songs seem good on the screen. The cinematography is appreciable and the first half of the movie has been well edited. On the other hand, the same cannot be narrated for the dragging second half of the film. Technically, Bandipotu is well created and is also rich in every frame.

The movie, Bandipotu, triggers on an interesting note and Indraganti, the director’s style of classy comedy best sounds at times despite the predictable plot. The first half gets executed at the smooth pace and brings the right mood for the upcoming hour but lacks in best narrative during the second half. Because of the political drama addition the movie gets boring.

However, is director would have, in the second hour, focused more on the comedy it might has worked. There were various actors who could enhance the scenes to some other levels but neither of them was utilized effectively. Collectively this film has the major focus on the mind games and intelligent play rather than dishing out the comedy.
