Android One: Smartphones with smarter prices for Indians

Smart phones the love of the life of the present society. One just cannot imagine going about ones live if one does not have a smart phone. We do not control the smart phones any more, the smart phones control us and not to forget our entire life. We love everything about them but the only we find hard to digest is the price; the sleek smart phone cost is enough to give us a mini heart attack. Wish we could have a phone which was very smart but within our budget. Even the first timers think several times before opting for one.

Good news at last, Google is all set to launch the first set of their android phones in India. Known as Android One India will be the launch pad for the phone. Google has already proven that it is the ultimate as far as search engine is concerned, but whether they can do the same with phones it something which needs to be seen. It is been said that Google will launch the phones along with the tie up with Micromax, Karbonn and Spice mobiles. Based on the market review of India, they will take it further to Indonesia, Philippines and the other South Asian countries. The most important part is that the phones will be priced Rs. 6399 only so that the reach is possible in the lowest income strata. Though there are several smart phones brands present in India, it has been reported that the market is all set to expand further. If reports are to be believed only 10% of Indian population is a proud owner of a smart phone. No wonder India is viewed as profitable market, as the market is expected to be more than double by couple of years.

Android One Smartphones from Karbon, Micromax and Spice

The specification of the phone has been reported as having Mali-400 Mp Graphics, 1GB RAM, 4 GB internal storage space, 10 GB Spice cloud, 35 GB Google Drive Space, 5 MP rear Camera with LED flash, along with HD video feature and it will run on 1.3GHz Media Tek quad core processor. The phone will also have the additional slot for micro SD card, where the user can insert cards which will support up to 32 GB. That’s not all there are more to come, the phone will excel in connectivity also, the dual sim Android One will be able to support Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, will be able to connect to WiFi and the A-GPS. The biggest advantage for team India would be the phone will have Hindi language support for all sort of voice commands. So there would be no need for the user to download any application for the Hindi command. All sounds too good to be true.

Google will sell the phones via Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon in India, which goes to prove that apart from the money that Google has allotted for the India launch it has really done its homework about India and what would be the customer base prefer. Now it just needs to be seen, how well the phones functions in reality.
