IPL 7, CSK vs KXIP: It’s KXIP - Punjab in the finals

IPL 2014 – CSK vs KXIP match was like Virendra Sehwag turning back the clock, hitting 122 runs for 58 balls and leading Kings XI Punjab to victory against Chennai Super Kings on Friday in Mumbai. CSK – whose attack was flattened by Sehwag, lost by 24 runs. This is the first time KXIP have made it to IPL finals. It is his great hand and eye coordination because of which he has able to score 1000s in the international cricket tournaments and because of which he was able to defend the CSK bowlers.

This also makes him the season’s highest individual scorer. CSK’s M S Dhoni did try to shuffle bowlers in an attempt to get Sehwag out of the way but to no avail. He hit 12 boundaries and 8 sixes. Lendl Simmons of Mumbai Indians was the first one to score a century in this season and that too was against the Punjab kings. Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders are now going to battle it out this Sunday in Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy stadium. After Sehwag it was Suresh Raina who put up a wonderful show and scored 25 – ball 87. He became the second player of this season to score the fastest fifty (16 balls). However he got out after the power play. After Raina’s dismissal, the wickets started falling.
