After a long period of wait, we finally have all – electric i3 from BMW. The car has been released by the company presently for buyers in US. The first few models have been delivered to few people including Anshal Gorse Cousteau (Philippe Cousteau’s (documentary maker) wife) and Charles Rabie – driver of loyal ActiveE. BMW soon will roll out the 100s of the orders from patient customers who have been very eager since 3 years to see this electrical vehicle turning into reality. There will be much waiting for buying next i8 model i.e., until September. But if you have over $41,000, you can go for buying the i3 model. It’s an environment friendly, emission – free and tech savvy transport.
The vehicle comes with the BMW’s I remote app that can be installed on a smart watch such as Samsung galaxy gear. The app displays various niceties of the car such as the range, battery status, and lock status and so on. If you happen to lose your car somewhere, there is no need to worry because there is a two way communication between the car and your phone. The car honks at regular intervals and signals the watch to make some noise. The i3’s $1,000 parking package is it’s another major feature. The car uses ultrasonic sensors using which it spots a parking place and parks itself leaving extra 22 inches of space on just a push of a button. Self – parking cars are not a new stuff, but i3 performs the task completely itself without needing the driver to put the brake. The car parks itself flawlessly. Looks like, the package is worth $1,000.
