2014 Elections in India: Narendra Modi Wins Big

It’s been 8 months since Mr. Narendra Modi was named as the prime ministerial candidate by BJP. He has proved himself to be worth of the party’s decision. This is the BJP’s best result ever, crossing 300 seats. For the last 29 years, it the first single party parliamentary majority. Mr. Modi said at the Vadodara rally “India has won, good days are coming”. Every now and then he has been tagged as a polarizing leader upon which he said that everyone will be taken along in running the country. He has vowed for delivering an efficient administration and rebooting the drowned economy marking “development for all” as his mission.

Out of 543 parliamentary seats, BJP has 300+ of them. On the other hand, this is the worst performance ever by congress led by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi winning less than 50 seats. It’s been 13 yrs of Mr. Modi’s rule in Gujarat who is now the indisputable champion. After the results he went to his mother seeking her blessings and posted a victory tweet which has created a record. He is expected to choose Varanasi and vadodara as his constituency and has been in consultations with many party leaders deciding who will a part of his government. Attacked as being a divisive leader, no evidence has been found against him. World class technology powered Modi’s campaign through which he addressed 457 meetings. As opposed to his past, Mr. Modi has chosen to stay out of religious agenda and to bring up the Gujarat model on the national level for development of the country.
