Self driving Google cars start to master city navigation

As revealed by Google in its blog post, the tech giant’s self – driving cars are showing better results in city street navigation. This is another milestone for the self – driving car technology. The cars are getting better in overcoming the challenges of urban navigation in city streets – traffic, pedestrians, construction zones, cyclists, railroad crossings, double – parked vehicles etc. the company released a video in the blog post showing the results of the cars’ learning capability and some remarkable navigation feats. It also mentioned that since august 2012, 1000s of miles of have already been logged by these cars in Mountain View, California.

 Upon differentiating between the highway driving and city driving, company said that the development of these cars is still in process and will take time to learn about keeping safe from city street hazards. By 2017 Google hopes to make this autonomous driving technology available to public. They still have to be taught a lot before they can master the streets.
