CES 2015: Lenovo unveils its latest ultrabooks from the ThinkPad series

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2015) in Las Vegas saw Lenovo unveil a long list of plans for its ThinkPad line of laptops. The whole series will see a brand new accessory system to mention a few key changes. ThinkPad aims to supplement the units in the mobile solution. By 2015, the customers will get two see the launch and update of two flagship ultrabooks- ThinkPad X1 Carbon and ThinkPad X250. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a 14 inches, high resolution touch screen portable laptop. It also weighs a meager 2.9 pounds and its thickness is just 0.73 inches. The pricing is pretty reasonable too at $1,249. The ThinkPad X250 is priced at $1,149 and works on Power Bridge technology which makes it flexible and best suited for those long travels. It is a 12.5 inches laptop that weighs 2.88 pounds and is 0.8 inches in thickness. This will be up for sales by February 2015.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon

Lenovo is launching T450s, T450, E450, and the L450 in its 450 series of ThinkPads. The T450s measures 14 inches and weighs 3.5 inches and is 0.83 inches thick. This is larger than the two flagship models mentioned above. This also runs on the company’s Power Bridge and can extend the battery life when necessary. The T450 measures 14 inches, weighs 4.0 pounds and has a thickness of 0.88 inches. The only feature lacking in the L450 is the touch screen option. This also measures 14 inches but is heavier as it weighs 4.25 pounds and has a thickness of 0.96 inches. The T450s is priced starting from $1099 while the pricing of T450 starts at $849. The L450 is priced starting from $699.

The T550 is designed just for those who prefer bigger screens as this laptop comes in two varieties- 15.6 inches display or 15.5 inches display with a resolution of 2800 x 1620. It also has a 16 GB memory and is expandable up to 512GB SSD. It weighs around 5 pounds and is 0.88 inches thick and it’s priced at $999 and will go up for sale in February 2015. The other line of ThinkPads is the E series. Lenovo is launching two laptops in this series- E550 and E450. The pricing starts at $599 for both and will be up for sale from February 2015. While the E550 measures 15.6inches, the E450 measures 14 inches of display. Both the laptops lack the touch screen feature but instead have optional optical drive. These can be got for 1TB of HDD or 128GB SSD. The E550 weighs 5.2 pounds and E450 weighs 4 pounds.

More about the ThinkPad Stack

ThinkPad stack allows mobile system users to upgrade them in stackable format. This ThinkPad consists of modules (four) that can be purchased and can be used interchangeably. When stacked, they are designed to share power and also the data. These ThinkPad stack will be up for sales in April 2015. It consists of a Bluetooth speaker that can handle both audio and conference calls and comes with a microUSB and is 3.5mm and is priced at $89.99. A power bank has dual USB, a micro USB and a 10,000 mAH capacity.

An access point, which is priced at $199.9, also shares a 4G phone connection. An HDD of 1TB which has an USB 3.0 and can be password secured. This ThinkPad stack is a very good investment for those that want to set up a good work environment anywhere without compromising on the standards. The extra 1TB of storage is also an added advantage.
