iPad Air 2 introduced by Apple: Thinnest Ever

This Thursday at its Cupertino event Apple introduced next in the line of its iPad series – iPad Air 2, which is being dubbed as the thinnest and most powerful iPad till now. The other highlights of the event included Apple pay that will be made available  from 20th October transforming the mobile payments, OS X Yosemite that can be downloaded by the users as a free upgrade, updates from Mac mini and a new iMac with 27 – inch Retina display. The new iPad weighs less than a pound and is 6.1 mm thin. The new features in iPad Air 2 include improved cameras for taking better photos and videos and a brilliant retina display for a clearer and crispier view. Both iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 are available in 3 colors – space gray, gold and silver. Both come with ‘Touch ID’ feature allowing users to unlock their device with a finger touch. The purchases and payments will now be more secure with Apple Pay.

The new powerful iPad is capable of running around 675,000 apps and majority of them have been designed specifically for it. Its light – weightiness won’t strain you if you were to hold it all day long. It is packed with a number of innovations including anti – reflecting coating on the display, improved FaceTime and iSight HD cameras, LTE wireless, next – gen 64 – bit A8X chip and a faster Wi – Fi. iPad Air 2 and iPad mini have been engineered for greater ease of use and of course portability. Its body is made of anodized aluminium which gives it a more solid feel, durability and beauty. The fully laminated retina display provides a more intimate experience with the content and images. The anti – reflective coating on the display has been designed for reducing the glare by half for providing you a clearer view when you are outdoors.

The new Apple chip is 40 percent faster than its earlier versions. The graphics are also 2.5 times better than the earlier iPads. For a wonderful gaming experience, the chip has been combined with Metal that also provides great visual effects. The motion coprocessor i.e., M8 is capable of gathering data from barometer, compass, gyroscope and accelerometer. Cameras have an 8MP sensor for enabling better photos. New features have been included for taking better panoramic photos, slow – motion, 1080 HD and time – lapse videos. The connectivity is even faster with MIMO (Multiple – In – Multiple – Out) technology and 802.11ac WiFi. The data rates can scale up to 866 Mbps. Both the iPads have been integrated with technology that supports faster cellular connections (HSPA+, DC – HSDPA) across the globe.
